Recruiting for a Clinical Director & Clinical Safety Officer Role

Position: Clinical Director and Clinical Safety Officer
Location: Remote
Hourly Rate: £85 per hour
Hours: 3 hours per week with occasional extra commitments to be mutually agreed

About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Clinical Director and Clinical Safety Officer to join our dynamic, pioneering team on a part-time, remote basis. This role is integral to ensuring our system is clinically effective, particularly in preparing for clinical reviews. The ideal candidate will bring robust expertise in clinical safety, leadership, and regulatory compliance, alongside a passion for driving healthcare innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership:

  • Guide the CheckUp Health (CUH) Tech Team to ensure the system is clinically effective.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversee clinical operations.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure clinical practices meet and exceed regulatory standards.

Clinical Safety:

  • Test the product, with a particular focus on modules undergoing clinical review.
  • Prepare, review, and sign off on the Hazard Log and Clinical Safety Review (CSR) report.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and lead initiatives to maintain clinical safety standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and establish mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control and patient safety.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Attend and present at System Clinical Review (SCR) meetings (fortnightly) and Enhanced Product Support (EPS) demo calls with the NHS (monthly).
  • Act as a key liaison among clinical staff, management, and external stakeholders.

Quality Improvement:

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Implement best practices to address clinical challenges.
  • Develop the evidence and documentation required to meet Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) standards.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered healthcare professional with a clinical qualification and full GMC registration.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior clinical leadership role.
  • Expertise in clinical governance, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to meet the demands of a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to time and flexibility, ensuring robust contribution to documentation and evidence creation.

Desirable:

  • Experience with telemedicine, health-tech solutions, and remote healthcare delivery.
  • Familiarity with primary care IT systems (e.g., EMIS, Docman, Vision).
  • A passion for driving change in digital healthcare solutions.

Job requirements:

Responsibilities for customer care:

  • Respond to customer service enquiries.
  • Respond to prescription queries (logistics, medical questions the doctor on call will help with)
  • Basic Tech-trouble shooting – there is an IT team for complicated issues.
  • Book, cancel or Rebook patients when required.
  • Document any minor complaints for the Clinical Admin Lead to respond to.
  • Inform patients the complaints process if wanting to officially complain.
  • Courtesy follow up calls at the doctor’s requests to see if needs further input from CheckUp Health.

Responsibilities for doctor care:

  • Complete and liaise with the clinicians about any clinical admin forms such referrals, notification of infectious diseases etc. You will be supported by the Clinical Admin lead.
  • Basic Tech-trouble shooting.
  • Respond to any Clinician cancellation of clinics by contacting registered clinicians to cover, if not having to rebook patients and add extra clinics if necessary. You will have support of oncall doctors and clinical admin lead.

Administration:

  • Share any positive feedback with the Clinical Admin Lead.
  • Pass any constructive negative feedback to Clinical Admin Lead.
  • Report any patient safety issues or concerns to the Clinical Admin Lead.
  • Report any IT concerns to Clinical Admin Lead.
  • Ensuring appointment slots have been added correctly and matched to the rota.

The contract:

A mix of afternoon and evening shifts over 5 days in shift patterns of 3-4 hours.

Shift time initially will mainly be afternoons and evenings in a set repeating pattern.

As the system grows there will be scope to change your hours.

Competitive hourly rate – 12-week temp contract in view to become salaried.

Marketing Manager

Job Summary

As a Digital marketing manager, you will be in charge of developing and complete marketing projects according to the organisation's goals and values. You must create efficient, effective advertising strategies in digital spaces to launch CheckUp Health products and services. This role will be central to the efficient running of our digital communications and will require close working with other teams, including member services and administration staff, to grow engagement across key stakeholder groups, both internally with our members and externally with supporters. In this job role, you will:

  • Be the main point of contact for our partners’ marketing teams.
  • Launch campaigns through CheckUp Health and partner channels to reach our target audiences.
  • Provide feedback to Influence product and engineering teams to constantly improve user journey to optimise the success of campaigns.
  • Work with the Project Management team to align partner launch plans and coordinate pre and post-launch marketing plans.
  • Collaborate with branding and creative team and write excellent creative briefs for exciting new campaigns.
  • Work closely with the PR, Design teams to ensure all campaigns are fully integrated, and consider the complete member journey, using research and insights as your starting point.
  • Build an up to date picture of our competitive landscape in markets.

Key Knowledge

  • Good Knowledge of the UK Health market.
  • Knowledge of budget planning, updates and reporting.
  • Experience liaising directly with partners and building positive, productive, trusting relationships.
  • Ability to analyse campaigns and report results.
  • Ability to take ownership of workload and drive projects to completion.
  • Affiliate/ Partnership Marketing background (advantage).

Key skills requirements

  • Expert-level knowledge of e-commerce and the ever-changing digital marketplace.
  • Good IT knowledge.

  • Experience in designing joint marketing strategies and campaigns, obtaining timely stakeholder sign off.

  • Monitor demand – if high have the ability after agreement with the Medical director of adding extra clinics at short notice to enable flawless service provision.
  • Will need to manage and cover all Clinicians annual leave requests.

Administrations

  • Monitor and collate patient feedback.
  • Monthly share any positive feedback.
  • Pass any constructive negative feedback to the designated Clinical Lead.
  • Assist project development by continuously appraising IT system highlighting need for change and improvement.
  • Report and patient safety issues or concerns.
  • Manage other admins in the team and ensure good rota coverage of clinicians.
  • Aiding in pathway/template designs.
  • Aiding with marketing plans and discussions.
  • An interest in taking over some project lead/ management work would be an advantage.

Full Job Description

Over the last year, CheckUp Health has accelerated it’s growth and worked on it’s clinicians and patient-facing products. The solution is ready for launch into the mainstream with most people looking to improve and take control of their health. We are looking for new ways to deploy services across England and drive exciting user experiences.

What you’ll be doing:

Do you have a passion for taking complex technical solutions and writing or creating content to help the world understand and use those solutions?

As a Technical Marketing Engineering Content Creator, you will focus on accelerating the adoption of CheckUp Health Apps and technologies by our customers and users.

To showcase how CheckUp Health products support patients to take control of their health and how organisations and clinicians can work efficiently remotely, save time and money. This role will work with the other members of the technical team, our tech partners and our business leaders to create a wide range of written deliverables and assets.

You should have backgrounds (experience) in video content creation, animation and graphics related content creation, system architecture and apps to help bring together complex technical concepts in easy to demonstrate deployment guides, videos, reference architectures and whitepapers.

Working with CheckUp Health field partners and customers, you will define and create assets to best showcase our technologies to a broad range of customers and vertical segments. These assets will be used in settings such as industry trade shows and training, with the goal of building the right level of content for the audience we are serving.

Internal and external training and webcasts will be a key part of the job. Some travel is required to support client implementation.

What we need to see:

3 years of experience in technical writing; technical content creation and similar documentation creation, curation and publishing.

While not essential, it would be advantageous to have either a:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience (technology background is helpful).
  • Hardware, and software solutions development background, and proven track record working with sophisticated solutions.
  • Medical copywriter / content creator background.

Ability to balance multiple projects and constituents and can prioritise under tight deadlines.

Ability to delve into technical details of products and a strong ability to defend opinions with both business and technical partners within the organisation.

Motivated with ability to prioritise tasks and work in a dynamic environment.

Excellent communication skills written, spoken and visual.
